Surviving Memories is a photography project I created to provide cancer patients, survivors, and their families with beautiful photos of themselves, for free.

  It is in memory of my best friend of 19 years, Chrissy Simpson, who passed away on August 15, 2015 from leukemia.

  Chrissy was diagnosed on September 1, 2011.  She fought hard to beat it and finally went into remission.  When we found out her leukemia had returned in October 2014, I offered to take some photos of her and her family. We never got to do them, and it breaks my heart. I don't want anyone else to miss the opportunity of having beautiful, professional photos taken of themselves or their loved ones.
